Yankees Now Have Second Best Odds to Win World Series Following Return of Stanton and Judge
- The odds of the New York Yankees winning the 2019 World Series dropped from +550 to +370 in the span of a week
- New York recently welcomed sluggers Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge back from the injury list
- The Yankees now have the second-best odds to win the Fall Classic
The New York Yankees are making a big move in the standings and at the sportsbooks.
Winners of nine of their last 10 games, the Bronx Bombers have opened a five-game lead atop the American League East. They were tied for top spot with the Tampa Bay Rays as recently as June 11th.
Meanwhile, the Yanks are also stepping boldly in the World Series odds. A cross-section of leading sportsbooks showed the line on the Pinstripers moving from +550 to +370 over the past week.

The Yankees most recently won a division title in 2012.
Here Comes the Judge
The Yankees have homered in 27 consecutive games. That ties a major-league record set by the 2002 Texas Rangers.
With both Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge healthy and back in the lineup, the Bronx Bombers figure to keep on crushing it. Stanton, who clouted 59 dingers in 2017, homered in Monday's win over Toronto. It was his first homer of the season.

Judge, who bashed 52 home runs in 2017, has been back for three games and is still looking to go deep. He clouted five homers before going on the IL on April 21st.
Yankees Fixing for Pitching
If there's an Achilles heel that could derail the season for New York, it's starting pitching. Yankees starters have turned in just 26 quality starts. That's 22nd in the MLB.
Even though they took three of four on the weekend from the Houston Astros, one win came via a bullpen game. In their only loss, JA Happ was pounded for eight runs in four innings.

Not to worry. The Yanks plan to solve this issue in typical Bronx Bombers fashion. They are targeting some of the best starting pitchers in all of baseball in order to heal this wound.
The list of the desired includes World Series winner Madison Bumgarner of the San Francisco Giants, Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals, Marcus Stroman of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Matthew Boyd of the Detroit Tigers.
Marcus Stroman just had an availability with New York reporters. Said he feels he's done a good job of pitching this season through the trade rumors, and said of playing in high-pressure environments: "I love the bright lights. I was built for this."

Stroman seems especially keen on the idea.
Start Spreading the News
If the Yankees land one of Scherzer, Stroman, or Bumgarner, the World Series might basically be a done deal. New York has proven capable of handling the Astros without an ace starter.

The Los Angeles Dodgers also have great starting pitching but they've found a way to lose consecutive Fall Classics.
If you haven't already bet the Yankees to win the World Series, we've got one question…
