WTA China Open Odds & Pick: Andreescu Favored After US Open Win
- The 23rd edition of the WTA China Open will take place September 30th to October 6th
- Caroline Wozniacki is the reigning champion and not seeded in the Top 10
- Svetlana Kuznetsova, Serena Williams, Agnieszka Radwanska, and Caroline Wozniacki hold the record for the most titles won with two titles each
The 2019 WTA China Open is the 2019 season's final Premier Mandatory tournament, and will once again contain a ton of star power, with most top ranked players participating. The top 15, as we can see, is full of champions and talented players, so as unpredictable the 2019 WTA season has been, this China Open will be no different.

Despite a tough showing in Wuhan, losing to lower ranked players, Ashleigh Barty and Petra Kvitova are seeded in the Top 10, and their odds are in the Top 5, with +1000 and +1200 respectively.
2019 WTA China Open Seeding
None of the past five winners of the WTA China Open are seeded in the Top 10, and no one's odds are in the Top 10 either. Caroline Wozniacki has the best odds of the past five winners at +4000 and that puts her in the Top 15.
Past WTA China Open Winners
The reigning US Open champion Bianca Andresscu will take the court for the first time since claiming her first Grand Slam last month. The 19-year old hasn't lost a full match since the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, and hasn't competed since her win over Serena Williams. Andreescu will be playing Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus in her first match. Andreescu is favored going into the tournament at +700 odds, and is seeded fifth.
Bianca + Beijing = 🎉
Bianca Andreescu is back in action and that footwork is looking fiiiiiine. She'll play her first tournament since winning the @usopen next week. Can #SheTheNorth keep the win streak alive?

Bianca could be seeing Naomi Osaka as early as the quarterfinals, and Karolina Pliskova in the semifinals. Both are tough matchups and both are former World No.1's. But as we saw at the US Open, a former No.1 like Serena Williams doesn't necessarily phase Bianca.
World No.1 Ashleigh Barty
Top seed, World No. 1, and French Open Champion Ashleigh Barty is at the top of the draw, and received a bye into the China Open second round. Barty will play her first match in Beijing against either Yulia Putinseva, who herself was a Toray Pan Pacific Open quarterfinalist or a qualifier.
Ashleigh Barty says she started to feel her left calf early in the match and felt like she had to red-line to just stay in the match, transitioned to protecting the leg later in the match. #WuhanOpen

Despite her seeding, Barty is coming off a tough loss at the Wuhan Open, where she lost in straight sets to 2018 Wuhan Open champion Aryna Sabalenka, and possibly tweaked something in her leg. In the past we've seen Barty not be able to shake off a tough loss, so it'll be interesting to see how this tournament plays out. Because she's ranked and seeded at the top, her first few matches should be a good warm up for later on in the tournament.
Off the bat, Bianca seems to be the way to go. The only thing that makes me hesitant towards her is the fact that we haven't seen her play since the US Open. The well-deserved break could either refresh the teenager or give her the opportunity to get cold. We'll see after her first match in the next couple of days, and if she's coming out like she did last month, she should be able to go all the way.
Best Bet: Bianca Andreescu +700
