Iga Swiatek vs Martina Trevisan
World No. 54 and the now favorite to win the entire tournament, Swiatek, will take on World No. 159 Martina Trevisan in the quarterfinal matchup that no one saw coming.
Swiatek enters the quarterfinals after defeating Simona Halep 6-1, 6-2. Many are interested to see how Swiatek attacks the quarterfinals after upsetting Halep. There have been many instances where a huge upset is followed up by a rather poor performance. Swiatek will look to avoid doing that as she participates in her first Grand Slam quarterfinal.
Trevisan has also been a story at the French Open this year. The 26-year old’s road to the quarterfinals includes upset wins as well, beating fifth seed Kiki Bertens in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-4. Her upsets in the previous rounds also include Coco Gauff and Maria Sakkari.
Perfectly placed for a spot in the quarter-finals ????

These two players have played each other twice before and their head-to-head record is tied at 1-1. Swiatek won their most recent encounter last year in Birmingham on grass, but Trevisan won their match on clay back in 2017.
Swiatek is definitely the more aggressive of the two players, playing heavy offense with her strong forehand. Trevisan on the other hand is someone who plays into the defense of the game, with strong counterpunches. Swiatek is listed as the heavy favorite with -560 odds, compared to Trevisan’s +410. Expect Swiatek to be able to take the match in straight sets (-195).
Best Bet: Swiatek (-560)

 Elina Svitolina vs Nadia Podoroska
No. 3 seed and the highest seed still standing, Elina Svitolina will take on qualifier Nadia Podoroska in the quarterfinals this year. This will be Svitolina’s third time competing in the French Open quarterfinals, but she looks to book her ticket to her first-ever semifinal appearance.
Podoroska is another player that was not expected to be here. But the Argentinian player has had an unbelievable tournament so far, as she participates in the main draw at the French Open for the first time in her career. She made it through all three rounds of qualifiers while only losing 14 games. Her quarterfinal appearance at the French Open will now be her best showing at a Grand Slam.
Nadia Podoroska was ranked No.255 at the start of the season and has now won 42 matches across all levels in 2020.
She will make her Top 100 debut after becoming the 1st Argentinian woman to reach the last eight in Paris since Paola Suárez’s SF showing in 2004.#RG20 pic.twitter.com/XGQ0i7xrGn

These two players have yet to play each other in their careers. This always makes for an interesting match, as the most knowledge each player has about each other is through film and watching others.
Svitolina is the more experienced player of the two. She performs very well on clay, with her winning percentage at the French Open the highest amongst the Grand Slams. Podoroska has also had success on the clay surface. Her game plays into it well, with the topspin, and the clay being able to slow things down. Her backhand is extremely accurate and has caused issues for her opponents.
Svitolina is the favorite going into this match with -355 odds and is the best bet to win. But don’t expect it to be an easy match for either player and will most likely go the distance (Svitolina 2-1, +310 odds).
Best Bet: Svitolina (-355)
