New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks Props – Best Team and Player Prop Bets for SNF Week 2

Bill Belichick has praised Russell Wilson in the lead up to this week's game. Can the QB go back up the chatter with a strong game against the Patriots D? Photo from @JDFSports (Twitter)
- The Patriots and Seahawks meet in a Super Bowl XLIX rematch on Sunday night (Sept. 20, 8:20 pm EST)
- Cam Newton takes on Seattle’s D for the ninth time in his career and first in New England
- See which players we like to shine under the bright lights below
Between non-stop replays of the Malcolm Butler interception, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will play a football game Sunday night, and it should be a doozie with the Seahawks listed as four-point favorites. Maybe not, ignoring Marshawn Lynch at the one-yard line great, but good all the same.
Bill Belichick. Pete Carroll. Russell Wison. Cam Newton. There’s tons of big names on the field in Seattle in what should be a pleasant 70-degree evening.
Who will be making the big plays? Well, if you’re going based on last week, probably not the guys I’ve picked below.

Newton’s Law Comes for New England’s Ground Game
New England-Seattle meetings might be a rarity, but Cam Newton is no stranger to the Legion of Boom, playing the Seahawks seemingly every year he was in Carolina.
Super Bowl 55 Odds Tracker
His record against Seattle is a disappointing 2-6 and it may have something to with his inability to gash them on the ground. Newton is averaging just 3.9 yards per carry, 31.1 rushing yards per game and only has one rushing TD in his career against the Seahawks.
But in a new-look offense drawn up by Josh McDaniels, will this be the week Cam’s legs can carry him over Seattle?

Probably not.
Bobby Wagner is the best middle linebacker in the game, K.J. Wright is no slouch, and Jamal Adams was all over the line of scrimmage in Week 1.

New England’s pass catchers still haven’t shown that they need to be respected. Until that changes, opponents will be selling out to stop this ground game and the Seahawks are well equipped to do that here.
Pick: 1 unit on Newton UNDER 37.5 yards rushing (-110)
Let Russ Cook = Let Carson Catch
Seahawks Twitter was thrilled to finally see their team throwing early and often in their Week 1 win over Atlanta. What has long been a rallying cry for fans has finally seemed to get through to head coach Pete Carroll, at least for a week.

Against a loaded Patriots secondary, I’m sure we’ll see Carroll regress to his more conservative tendencies on Sunday night. But that won’t necessarily mean three straight runs into a loaded box. Seattle should be looking to incorporate the screen game more, after finally running some successful ones to start the year.
#LSU’s Damien Lewis (rookie) and Ethan Pocic started for the #Seahawks OL this week.
Here’s a look at them together on Chris Carson’s screen for the TD.

Carson caught three screen passes (six catches total) against the Falcons, good for 45 yards through the air. Going up against suspect linebackers for New England, Carson should have some more success in the passing game, at least enough to hit his very attainable over.
Pick: 1 unit on Chris Carson to OVER 19.5 receiving yards (-110)
Patriots vs Seahawks Scoring Props
Team | Odds to Score 1st TD | Odds to Score Any TD |

Chris Carson (SEA) | +700 | +120 |

Sony Michel (NE) | +1100 | +210 |
Cam Newton (NE) | +1200 | +230 |
Julian Edelman (NE) | +1200 | +250 |
Greg Olsen (SEA) | +1300 | +290 |
Carlos Hyde (SEA) | +1400 | +270 |
N’Keal Harry (NE) | +1500 | +330 |
Rex Burkhead (NE) | +1600 | +340 |
Lockett In For First TD
Tyler Lockett had the first score for Seattle in five of their games last season. He had a great effort in Week 1, hauling in all eight of this targets for 92 yards, but couldn’t find the endzone.
New England’s strength may be in the secondary, but there’s little you can do to stop a perfectly placed ball. And Russ has found Lockett on more than a few of those in his career.

For the Patriots side, look at Edelman or James White, as New England is going to have to take to the air to have success in this one.
Pick: 1 unit on Tyler Lockett to score first TD (+750)
