LSU, Oklahoma, Georgia All Getting Over 90% of Betting Handle as Massive Favorites in Week 6

  • LSU has covered both times they've been a favorite of 21.5 to 31 points this season
  • Oklahoma is just 2-5 ATS in their last seven as a road favorite
  • The Georgia Bulldogs are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 conference games

The LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, and Oklahoma Sooners are all massive favorites in Week 6. While you might expect the big spreads to scare away bettors, especially the sharps, the opposite has been true. These three teams are among the most heavily bet sides at BookMaker.eu.

Are any of these favorites a good bet to cover at the current point spreads?

Current Utah State vs LSU Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total at BookMaker.eu
Utah State Aggies +27.5 (-111) +1322 Over 73 (-110)
LSU Tigers -27.5 (-109) -3200 Under 73 (-110)

Utah State vs LSU Odds

The Tigers are fresh off a bye week and, according to BookMaker.eu, getting 92% of the betting handle on this game. As impressive as they’ve been this season, they’ll have to be careful in this spot. Sure, the Utah State vs LSU odds show that the Tigers are a four-touchdown favorite, but the Aggies are a decent Group of Five team.

Utah State was 11-2 last and has a dangerous quarterback in Jordan Love. He had 416 passing yards, three touchdowns and three picks in Week 1 when they nearly upset Wake (lost 38-35). On top of that, LSU might be without several starters on defense. They also have a big game against Florida next week, so this could be a lookahead spot.

Utah State is just 1-31 in their last 32 as a dog of 21.5 to 31 and LSU is 31-0 in their last 31 as a favorite in that range, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Aggies cover. I’d be careful laying the points here.

Current Oklahoma vs Kansas Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total at BookMaker.eu
Oklahoma Sooners -32 (-111) N/A Over 67.5 (-110)
Kansas Jayhawks +32 (-109) N/A Under 67.5 (-110)

*Odds taken 10/04/19

The Oklahoma Sooners have been hanging some crazy numbers on teams this season but now they’re tasked with going on the road and covering nearly five touchdowns at Kansas. The Oklahoma vs Kansas odds indicate the line is currently at -32, and that's moved up with OU getting 93% of the handle at BookMaker.eu.

Kansas has been a tough team to figure out as they were supposed to be awful but they actually won at Boston College just a couple of weeks ago as a 20+ point dog. They also lost a close game to West Virginia right after.

On the other hand, this team barely beat Indiana State in their opener, lost to Coastal Carolina in Week 2 and was absolutely crushed 51-14 at TCU last week. The Jayhawks have just enough weapons here to cover as quarterback Carter Stanley had been playing really well before last week.

Also, keep in mind that Oklahoma plays Texas next week, so there might be a bit of a lookahead here. I’d take the points.

Current Georgia vs Tennessee Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total at BookMaker.eu
Georgia Bulldogs -24.5 (-108) -2847 Over 51.5 (-110)
Tennessee Volunteers +24.5 (-112) +1253 Under 51.5 (-110)

*Odds taken 10/04/19

The Bulldogs and Vols both return off a bye week feeling very differently about their programs. Bettors are feeling very differently about them, as well, with Georgia getting 93% of all the money bet on this game at BookMaker.eu.

The Vols look like a disaster in their second season under Jeremy Pruitt. On the off week, Pruitt had to apologize for one his players getting arrested and talking trash to the cops. We also don’t know who Tennessee’s is starting a freshman quarterback and they’re coming off a 34-3 blowout loss to Florida.

As for Georgia, they edged Notre Dame in primetime last we saw them, and now they get a cupcake here.  Neyland Stadium used to be a tough place to play and the crowd will be rowdy for a quarter or so, but they’re on the cusp of turning on this year’s team.

Georgia is not typically a team that goes on the road and blows teams out, but this looks like one of those spots. I just don’t see Tennessee being able to score much – especially since they’re so bad along the lines of scrimmage. The Georgia vs Tennessee odds present a big line but I’d lay it with Georgia.
