This week could prove to be a pivotal one in the story of the 2019-20 La Liga season, with Real Madrid facing the aforementioned test at home against a plucky regional rival and Barça (-115) facing a difficult test against 3rd-place Atletico Madrid (+290).

A massive clash at the bottom of the table could seal the fate of the three currently relegation-bound teams, as 18th-place Mallorca (+205) host 17th-place Celta Vigo (+128); the gap could narrow to five points, or extend to a near-insurmountable 11.

Matchday 33 kicks off with that tasty relegation showdown on Tuesday at 1:30 pm EST.

All odds taken June 29

Pick 1: Mallorca vs. Celta Vigo

It’s all or nothing for Mallorca (7-5-20) entering Tuesday’s pivotal match against Celta Vigo (7-13-12).

A win would narrow the gap between safety and relegation to just five points for the hosts, while a loss would send Celta 11 points clear of the drop.

While Mallorca have been decent at home, earning points in nine of 16 matches on the island, but won’t have their usual home pitch advantage; additionally, Vigo have won or drawn nine of their 16 road matches and are undefeated in their last four (2-2-0).

PICK: Vigo pk, -0.5 (-110)

Pick 2: Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid

Tuesday afternoon’s match could be make-or-break for Barcelona (21-6-5) and their title ambitions, as Atletico Madrid (15-13-4) pose a very real threat.

Barça’s surprise draw at Celta on Saturday has put Quique Setien’s squad behind the eight ball; with that said, their 15-1-0 home record speaks for itself.

Diego Simeone’s Atleti have won four games on the trot — albeit against bottom-half opponents — and shown some flashes of creative brilliance. If they are to grind out a result in Catalunya on Matchday 33, however, it will be their stout road defense (0.81 goals against/game) that gets the job done.

PICK: U 2.5 (-120)

Pick 3: Real Madrid vs. Getafe

As the tension ratchets up for Barça, Real Madrid (21-8-3) know they are in the driver’s seat and can crank the heat up even further on their rivals to the northeast with a win against Getafe (13-10-8) come Thursday.

They say good teams find a way, and Los Blancos have done just that under Zinedine Zidane since the restart with a perfect 5-0-0 record; Real have not lost at home this season (12-4-0), and have not conceded in three of their last four matches.

It won’t come easy — Getafe are the fifth-best road team (6-4-5) in Spain, after all — but Real have owned this matchup with wins in all but one meeting since 2012 (11-1-0) and will be on an extra day of rest.

PICK: Real Madrid -1, 1.5 (-118)
