The KIA Tigers lead the KBO in team ERA but you’d never know it given their play over the last week. KIA’s staff has surrendered 35 runs over its last five games, and life won’t get any easier on Friday when they host second place Kiwoom at 5:30 am EST.

Struggling Starters
The Tigers will trot out Hyun Jong Yang versus the Heroes, six days after a disastrous outing against NC. Yang gave up 11 hits, eight runs and two home runs, in a 9-2 blowout loss to the Dinos. He did pitch well two weeks ago in a victory over Kiwoom, but prior to that he was pounded for eight runs by Samsung.
He’s been incredibly inconsistent this season, and the Heroes offense is no joke. They’ve scored 11 runs in their last two games, and they crossed the plate 43 times in six contests last week.
Kiwoom will counter with Won Tae Choi, who lasted just 4 innings last time out against KT Wiz. He surrendered four runs to the Suwon and a season high five walks.
KIA doesn’t possess the most potent offense in the league, but they are capable of outbursts. They put up 10 runs on Thursday, and each of their last six contests have produced a double-digit total.
Pick: Over 9.0 (-110)

Offensively Challenged
It’s hard to fathom, but the Hanwha Eagles are actually favored in a game on Friday, and by no small margin no less. The Eagles are -150 on the moneyline versus the SK Wyverns, but instead of putting your faith in the worst team in the league, why not look at the 9.5 total instead.
Hanwha and SK are the two lowest scoring teams in the league and it’s not particularly close. Combined they’ve barley scored more runs than NC, and the Eagles are the only KBO squad yet to hit the 200-run plateau.

Also working in favor of the under, is the improved play of Hanwha starter Min Woo Kim. The right-hander has allowed just three runs total in his last two outings, while striking out 14.
The Wyverns’ offense meanwhile, has been ice cold all season and have scored more than four runs just twice in their last 11 outings.
Pick: Under 9.5 (-120)
Value on the Lions
Last week, the Samsung Lions were the hottest team in the KBO. They’d won five straight and 10 of 12, before suffering three losses in four games. Now, they hit the road to face KT Wiz and are getting no respect at online sportsbooks.
Samsung is a sizeable road underdog despite having the advantage on the mound. They’ll give the ball to Yoon Dong Heo, who’s allowed three runs or less in each start this season and has yet to taste defeat.
Just finished watching the Samsung Lions beat Lotte Giants 3-1. Pitcher Yoon-dong Heo went into 5 innings & giving up no runs.
And he's 18-year-old.
18-year-old.

KT Wiz will counter with William Cuevas, who gave up five runs last time out and has a 5.06 ERA this season. Give me Samsung +1.5 all day.
Pick: Samsung Lions +1.5 (-120)
