Blazers, Sixers Tuesday NBA Betting Favorites
The Portland Trail Blazers will be looking to claim their first playoff series victory in three years when they tip off against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday in Game 5 of their opening-round matchup as 4-point home favorites on the NBA playoff betting odds.
Portland rebounded from a 120-108 loss in Game 3 by marching to a decisive 111-98 win in Oklahoma City as 5.5-point underdogs on Sunday, and now takes a 3-1 series lead into Tuesday's game at the Moda Center.
The Trail Blazers have gone 23-7 straight up in 30 outings since February 11, and have been particularly dominant on home hardwood, where they ride a 10-game SU win streak, while also rewarding bettors with against-the-spread wins in three of four.
Portland has finally been rewarded on the NBA playoff lines for their recent dominance. The Trail Blazers now return home pegged as -700 favorites on the NBA series prices, and have also made gains on the NBA championship odds, where they sit as a +3000 wager.
Now on the verge of a first-round exit from the NBA playoffs for a third straight year, the Thunder look to Game 5 listed as lengthy +450 underdogs on the NBA series prices. After dominating the Trail Blazers while posting SU and ATS wins in four regular-season meetings, the Thunder have been outclassed by Portland in the series, falling to defeat by an average margin of 12.7 points in their three losses.
The Thunder have posted consecutive road wins just once during a 6-10 SU run, including a 4-6 SU and ATS run when set as road underdogs by four or fewer points. Now teetering on the brink of elimination, Oklahoma City is in free fall on the odds to win the NBA championship, tumbling to +10000.
Sixers Solid Favorites on NBA Playoff Odds
Elsewhere on Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will be also be looking to advance to the second round as they host the Brooklyn Nets in Game 5 of their series as 8.5-point favorites on the NBA playoff odds.
The Sixers took a commanding 3-1 series lead with Saturday's 112-108 win in Brooklyn as 3.5-point road chalk, and return home as massive -100000 favorites to knock off the Nets on the NBA playoff series odds.
Philadelphia has rediscovered its offensive groove while tallying three straight wins over Brooklyn. The 76ers have averaged 129.3 points per game in those victories, and have now topped 120 points in five of nine outings, generating a 6-3 run for the OVER in totals betting. The club has also been steady on home court, going 8-2 SU in its past 10, but has failed to consistently reward bettors, going 5-5 ATS at home during that stretch.
And while Philadelphia remains among the favorites as a +475 wager to win the Eastern Conference, it has failed to gain ground on the NBA championship odds, trailing at +2400.
With just three SU wins in 11 meetings with Philadelphia, the Nets are now listed as heavy +1600 underdogs on the NBA series prices, and sit near the bottom of the NBA championship odds, deadlocked with the Orlando Magic at +50000.
