Sportradar to Power BetIndiana’s US Sports Betting Entry
Digital sports betting startup BetIndiana has partnered with major sports data and content provider Sportradar in a bid to enhance its imminent entry into the US sports gambling field.
The deal between the two companies will see Sportradar deliver real-time sports data as well as its Managed Trading Services (MTS) to the betting operator. The delivery will take place through the Amelco platform, it also became known.
BetIndiana was one of the first US sports betting operators to opt for Sportradar’s MTS service. MTS helps sports betting operators to build their own bespoke sportsbook by providing a holistic turnkey solution that “reduces economic uncertainties and financial and operational risks.”
Sportradar has said that while its product is suitable for both new and experienced operators, it was created with startups in mind. New entries into the highly competitive sports betting market can benefit from the major provider’s sport data and betting entertainment services as well as from full administration of their operations by Sportradar experts.
Commenting on their latest deal, Sportradar Vice President of US Sales and Gaming Neale Deeley said that given its focus on digital betting, they “are well-positioned to provide BetIndiana with the data, tools, and services it needs to succeed for many years to come.”
Imminent Launch in Indiana
Of their decision to harness Sportradar data and the provider’s MTS solution, USA Sports Gaming President & Founder Frank Ignatius said that “as a startup in a competitive landscape, it’s crucial that we hit the ground running with a hyper focus on growth” and that “Sportradar gives us the opportunity to do that.”
News about BetIndiana’s partnership with Sportradar emerged shortly after the digital betting operator announced that it has teamed up with casino operator Spectacle Entertainment for the launch of the BetIndiana mobile betting app in Indiana.
Spectacle operates the two Majestic Star riverboat casinos in the state. The properties will soon be relocated onto dry land and their owner will use one of the vacated casino licenses to build and operate a Hard Rock-branded casino in the City of Gary.
Spectacle does not plan to open a physical sportsbook at the future casino, but its partnership with BetIndiana shows that it will be more than happy to tap into the state’s mobile betting field.
Indiana legalized sports betting this year and first retail operations commenced in September. In early October, it became the seventh US state to go live with mobile betting.
Mr. Ignatius said last month that they were ready on their side and would be able to launch the BetIndiana betting app as soon as they obtain permission from the Indiana Gaming Commission. The executive also noted that they expected that two happen within the next four to six months.
Indiana’s retail sportsbooks handled $35.2 million in bets in September, the first full month of regulated wagering in the state. Betting revenue amounted to $8.6 million. October figures are yet to be released by regulators, but they will certainly be stronger with the launch of mobile betting early that month.
